The Museum of Ethnography
The avatars and The Museum of Ethnography
As a performance artist I construct identities or avatars.
Marya, my artistic persona, creates "art"ifacts and costumes for use in performances and installations and writes, directs and edits film shorts.
Professor Ivana-Marya Clarity, my academic avatar who poses as a cultural anthropologist, conducts pseudo-scientific research and curates exhibitions presented at The Museum of Ethnography in downtown Easton Pennsylvania. The Museum of Ethnography, a studio/alternative gallery established in 1999, is open to the public twice weekly. It serves as a stage for interactions with the artist and a venue for film screenings. Admission is free, group tours are welcome.
Both persona delight in examining and commenting on popular culture and the absurdities found in everyday life.
